If you ask for help there are some information help for people on the other side. They will ask you for version numbers and where you have OpenNMS running on. Sometimes it is required to provide configuration or log files.
- Horizon 22+: Go in the Web UI, click on your user name and select “About”. You will see all important version numbers which are important when you ask for help.
- Until Horizon 21: Go in the Web UI, click on your user name and select “Help/Support -> About the OpenNMS Web Console”
If you have to log or configuration files and you don’t have access to the command line to copy them over to your local machine, the Web UI gives you the possibility to get these information.
- Horizon 22+: Go in the Web UI, click on your user name and select “Support -> Generate a System Report”.
- until Horizon 21: In the Web UI click on your user name and select “Help/Support -> Generate a System Report”
You can download the files to your local machine. It requires to have admin permissions in OpenNMS to see the “Support” menu item.
Before you share log files or configurations, please visit them first and make aware you don’t share secure information and you redact them before you share them.
